     Yan Zhou

 

Yan comes from Shanghai in China. She got her Medical Doctor Degree in Shanghai Jiao Tong University, School of Medicine in 2011. She majored in Medical Microbiology. Her previous work focused on the mechanism of neonatal meningitis caused by E. coli K1. She found a new model for E. coli associated and invasion to brain. Since 2015, she came to Isaac Chiu lab in Harvard Medical School and studied the role of sensory neuron system on pathogen infection. She found that the pneumolysin contributed to the neuronal activation by Streptococcus pneumoniae in vitro. At present, in professor Higgins lab, her research work is focusing on the surface and secretion antigen screening from Listeria monocytogenes, which can activate CD8 T cell response both in mouse and human being.
